About The Better Editor

Corrie Lisk-Hurst
“Professional Chops”

I’ve worked directly with some of the strongest minds in professional development:  Bill Brooks (sales and sales management), Gary Casselman and Tim Daughtry (leadership), Gerald Bell (leadership), and David Scruggs (leadership).  I’ve been a new product specialist for The Brooks Group, a business development writer for New Breed, Inc., and a copy editor for Oxford University Press and the American Association of University Professors.

+ “Book Smarts”

I earned my BA in art history at Rice University, and my MS in technical communication at North Carolina State University.  I’m a member of the International Association of Business Communicators, the Association of Ghostwriters, and the Small Publishers Association.

= one exceptional ghostwriter.

My goal is to help small to mid-sized businesses use communication as effectively as possible – whether by creating more effective sales aids, training materials, or web copy, or by helping my clients organize detailed RFI responses and proposals that truly differentiate them from their competitors.

Books are my true passion! I love helping top-notch thinkers in leadership, sales, and sales management get their ideas out in book format.  Books can be an incredible marketing and positioning tool for you and your firm.  Navigating the maze of traditional versus print-on-demand (POD) publishing options can be confusing, and deciding whether to approach a publisher or self-publish your work can be a challenge. Whether you have a draft that’s close to complete or only the beginnings of an outline, I will guide you through the process from concept to conclusion.
